Every Day in May: Day 10 – Orchid Show Drawings

I skipped day nine, but I’m back on with Day 10. I went to my first orchid show on Sunday. I had never been to a flower show and I wanted some new things to draw so I went.
I took a few pictures to use for drawing and made these drawings in my moleskine when I got home. I found them awfully intimidating. I stuck with it though.

Lovely orchid art Mellanie. The pug is just toooo cute. Lovely expression on his face and the watercolour of the man below reminds me a bit of Prince William – perhaps in 20 years time.
Really lovely flowers. Watercolor pencils are NOT easy, though i think they should be somehow. You’ve got a very nice touch, and the color is perfect. Well done.
I keep coming back to look at these – I can’t believe you did these flowers with watercolor pencils! They are gorgeous!
